Last month I (Kenel) was back in Haiti and spent most of my trip meeting with our amazing local community to plant black beans. ARE THEY COMING IN FAST OR WHAT. Our farm managers Ti Tonton(little uncle) and Renaud are working on weeding the beans right now! Send them your love and a gentle reminder to drink lots of water.
This spring, Lauren and I will be back in Haiti in a couple months to harvest the beans, put a roof on the farmhouse (can we get a YAHOOOOO for this), trim the moringa trees,
and offer a LOT of community training opportunities. Right now, we are working with a number of local non-profits to help coordinate community workshops so we can educate more people about moringa and the importance of good nutrition. We will also (fingers crossed) be offering product samples of our moringa peanut butter.
Later this year, we hope to begin construction on a small factory so we can begin the production of our moringa products and start getting moringa in the hands of community members through local partnerships. This is VERY exciting for our team and will be the primary function of our efforts moving forward.
Lauren and I want to thanks you all our supporters for helping build the farm into what it is today. Without you, we could not be doing this critical work and creating paths to feed the future of Haiti.
